How Can I Get Involved?

You can begin to learn valuable skills and help others as soon as you join your first project. In order to qualify for a project on your own home, you will need to contribute as many volunteer hours to others as others will donate to you when they help you on your project. The number of hours required varies with the project.

You can also earn hours in other ways. Is your neighborhood organizing a Fall picnic, for example? The Co-op can help you organize an information table for your group.

There are other ways to help. Just Ask!

Who Can Participate?

Anyone can join the Co-op to help and to learn. You just have to show up and help out.

Our main focus is on homeowners. However, we may be able to work with small-scale rental property owners as well. Anyone can help and anyone can learn.

How Do I Earn My Hours?

Just sign up for a project, show up, and work. You can also have people work for you. Other family members, friends and neighbors can all work on your behalf. Make it a family affair!

Can Youth Participate?

We are eager to get young people involved. This is their future too. A person must be at least 14 years of age for their hours to count toward their household's project. Anyone under 18 must have adult supervision.

What if I am Not Physically Able to Work on a Project?

We will work with you to find other ways for you to contribute to the co-op to earn your hours. Other people can also donate their hours to you.

How Much Does it Cost?

Empowering Local Communities, Inc. is working to make this affordable to everyone. For instance, for some low-income homeowners, a grant available from Pima County will help cover part of the cost.We are cosntantly looking for other sources of funds to help everyone participate.
